do88 Performance Engine Oil Cooler designed for easy drop-in fitment in your BMW M2C / M3 / M4 F8X
The S55 twin-turbo engine that powers the BMW M2C/M3/M4 F8X has a horizontally mounted engine oil cooler positioned under the central radiator module. This stock engine oil cooler has a tube & fin core which is a somewhat delicate construction and therefore can be damaged by road debris. So it is not very unusual to have a sudden oil leak at this position from a small stone or other debris damaging the stock oil cooler and this can be fatal to the engine.
With our performance oil cooler we want to offer a much more durable design and of course improve performance at the same time!
To get an accurate 3D model of the space available to design our oil cooler, we performed a detailed 3D scan of the oil cooler mounting area. Using this 3D scan model, we were able to design a new performance bar & plate oil cooler that improves both cooling and strength. Our design increases cooling surface area by 20% and core volume by a massive 63% compared to the stock oil cooler.
Our bar and plate core is much more robust so it can better handle potential road debris and also offers better performance!
